Then we are surely doomed…

The head of the IPCC panel of climate scientists has made a cataclysmic statement:

Only seven years left for global warming target: UN panel chief

“…But in order to do that, we
have a window of opportunity of only seven years because emissions will
have to peak by 2015 and reduce after that. We cannot permit a longer
delay.”

Seven years is a very short period of time to restrict growth in CO2 emissions, resulting in peak in emissions, especially considering that no attempt has been made in the largest emitter, China, nor any of the countries with the fastest growing emissions. Even in Europe, Canada, and the US actually halted growth in emissions, the world would still have rising emissions for some time to come. So if the “tipping point”, or point of no return is only seven years away, then we are all surely doomed.

Or – the world will adapt. Some ecosystems and species will suffer, but others will thrive. And life will find a way. And civilization will continue to exist.

Yup and they told us the Exxon Valdez oil spill would still be a mess in 200 yrs, less than a decade later it’s like it never happened.
Perhaps the seven yr mark is when they figure even the most guilible amongst us will not believe thier BS.

Decisions, decisions. Someone says 7 years and someone else says 250 years.
“William Nordhaus says, well, slow down, friend. We have time. Let’s do this thing properly.

Dr. Nordhaus takes global warming seriously, anticipating that it may well “cast a shadow over the globe for decades, perhaps centuries, to come.” When he says centuries, he means centuries. In his highly sophisticated computer analysis of global warming strategies, he includes the option of doing nothing at all for 250 years – and found that it delivered the same result (measured in global emissions of carbon dioxide one century hence) as the Kyoto Protocol with or without the United States. ”

Next thing you know these nutters from the U.N. will be leading us all to a cave like the rest of the apocalyptic doomsday cults. It’s bad enough that the U.N. has lost all credibility, now it has become a farce.

God help us all.Well its been nice knowing you all.I hardly even got to know you.Oh well i get to see Dion on the front pages of the newspapers everyday and he gives me so many laughs,my last 7 years will be hillarious.Saw him on tv in his trademark pose, clenched fist in the air and teeth firmly clenched and a tough looking scowl on his face saying he really told garth turner a thing or two about his comments on how evil Quebec and Alberta are. What he actually said to Turner was,Who in hell booked this meeting in a monkey cage, and how come no one is coming to see how tough i look.Actually i hear there were 150 cameramen from the CBC and a bunch of monkeys in the room with an applause sound track.
